Nissan's Upbringing

Nissan has been around for almost 100 years making sedans, trucks and sports cars for many years. They originally had started out as Datsun but had officially rebranded and discontinued the Datsun brand in 1986. Nissan re-established the brand starting in 2013 and they now sell cheap economy cars in foreign countries. They also own the luxury brand Infiniti which was established in 1989 and just hit 30 years of being a car company.

Nissan's first sports car was the Datsun 240Z which was the beginning of a continued line of sports cars that has been around for 50 years now and is regarded as building the first reliable sports car.

Nissan has had many different lines of "economy cars" from the Nissan Sentra to the Nissan Altima and Nissan Maxima. Their sports cars range from the legendary line of Nissan Z cars to the Skyline / GTR line and the Silvia / 240SX line of sports cars.

NISMO which is short for Nissan Motorsports, has been around since 1984 and is Nissan's in-house tuning and racing division. The engines and cars are put together solely by a single person and each car has a plaque on the engine with the name of the employee who built the engine.

Nissan's sports car have been renowned for their ability to be tuned and customized easily to the users preference. Many of their engines have been tuned to upwards of 1000 horsepower and they are highly regarded as one of the best when it comes to sports cars and reliability.

Since the turn of the century Nissan has faced financial trouble and ended up cutting off a lot of their cars including the 240SX line of sports cars and even had cut the GTR line until they had released a new model in 2009 when they had also released the next car in the Nissan Z lineup, the 370Z.
