- Should show some evidence of being knowledgeable, reliable and truthful. Here are some clues:
- Author's education, training credentials, experience in a field relevant to the information. Look for title and position.
- Author provides contact information (email or snail mail address, phone number (so users can make comments).
- Author provides a list of references to the article that was written.
- Organizational authorship or sponsor is known and respected, (corporate, governmental. or non-profit). Look at the URL.
- What is the purpose of the information, is it serious, satiric, humorous, educational?
- The author is mentioned in a positive fashion by another author or another person you trust as an authority
- You found or linked to the author's Web/Internet document from another document you trust.
